Council to consider digital billboard

DANVILLE — City council members this week will consider approving the city’s first digital billboard.

Aldermen will consider approving a special-use permit requested by Lamar Advertising to place an outdoor advertising sign/billboard at 3711 N. Vermilion St. in the B2 highway business zoning district.

The south side will have a digital face, while the north side will have a static face.

The billboard is proposed for the strip of ground north of the former K’s Merchandise and south of WorkSource Enterprises, on the east side of Vermilion Street. The land is owned by WorkSource.
