POSITION SUMMARY:
Sure Light Sign Company
Technicians will have direct contact with customers on a daily basis and are
responsible for presenting situation analysis to the customer first hand in
clear terms that the customer will understand.
They must work in a team atmosphere as well as with little or no
supervision. The technician is
accountable for all inventory and company assets on the truck that is assigned
to them. It is the duty of the
technician to complete all survey requests and complete the scope of work as directed
and or as the service ticket/work order outlines. By utilizing expert troubleshooting knowledge
and technically skilled knowledge, the Technician strives for higher customer
satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Receives daily work schedule and travel to
off-site locations or in a case by case
basis will report directly to job site upon approval from supervisor in order to install, repair, inspect, survey, troubleshoot,
or clean signs and interior/exterior lighting as noted on the work order at
multiple sites for multiple customers.
· Must be
presentable and possess the ability to speak with customers in order to build
relationships and to communicate to them what is happening with their
particular issue.
· Be
thorough and accurate when filling out all paperwork pertaining to the specific
job.
· Be
responsible for maintaining your assigned equipment, inventory and vehicles.
· Be able
to work overtime and/or on call as workload and emergency issues dictate.
· Be responsible
for travel expenses and advances that will be given in order to travel
Attributes:

and drive to remote jobsites.

resource identification and efficient coordination of resources

Must have the ability to work with job site Crews,
Superintendents and Project Managers, as well as maintain schedules.

skills
•
Must be able to read blueprints, Corel drawings,
Solid works and AutoCAD type drawings, and other schematic type
instructions/diagrams/BOM
•
Six months after
employment must present a CDL class A Drivers License to be able to operate a
truck and trailer.
REPORTING
STRUCTURE:
•
The Technician will
receive daily instructions from the Service/Installation Manager based on
location need. Functionally, the Technician will report directly to the Manager
of the assigned department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Must have the ability to
work independently as well as in a team environment with other installation
crews.
EDUCATION: High School degree required. Some college or technical education
preferred. The Technician needs a technical aptitude and should have a comfort
level with electrical and mechanical equipment
•
Associates Degree
preferred or equivalent experience/Industry knowledge +.
•
Equivalent experience considered in Carpentry,
Electrical, Sheet Metal and General Construction.
EXPERIENCE: The individual should have a minimum of two years job experience
in a skilled trade position
• Specific experience with a sign company or in the construction trades that
operate on a local, regional or national level.
• Experience working with permit and inspections departments from various
municipalities
•
Mechanical aptitude and
working knowledge of building construction and assembly is required.
•
Basic – Moderate understanding of electrical
wiring. Must be a self-starter, motivated employee who can work without
supervision
Experience in driving a
bucket truck or similar, CDL (A) class a must within 6 months of employment
Basic Computer Skills a plus.
